New Beginnings...

Hello bloggers!

I have been absent from the blog world, as well as the craft world, for a while now. :( I am ready to change that! A lot has changed in the last several months, I moved to Arizona, leaving everyone and everything I was comfortable with behind (except for my amazing boyfriend who moved with me!) And now after starting to establish my weekday career as a Pharmacy Technician, I am ready to pursue my dream of making my love of crafts and art a business venture for real. In the next several months, I am expanding my crafting from purses and tote bags to Primitive/Country Style Home Decor. I have to say that my mom got me into this style and I am in love. I will be making wall art, pillows, linens, candles, swags, wreaths, garlands, greeting cards, and other misc. goodies! I am so excited about this and I can't wait to share all of my fun ideas and projects with you! I will be selling these items in my etsy shop which will be open in about a month. Where Did Summer Go?

So it's Labor Day! WOW. I have not been very dilligent with this blog. This summer flew by with no warning. Cakes, Studying, Cakes, Studying, A little sewing, Studying...busy busy busy!!!

I am officially half way done with my schooling, I should be done by January! I am sooo excited. because I have been so dedicated to school though, my crafting has taken a serious break. I did just make new pillows for my couch yesterday though! It only took me about an hour. And it was nice to get my sewing machine out and remind it I hadn't forgotten about it! :)

New Cakes...

So, as a cake decorator, this time of year (from Mother's Day weekend, to Father's Day) is the busiest time of year. College and High School Graduations and weddings are happening all over the place! After almost 4 years of cake decorating, I finally thought I'd document the "cool cakes" that I do...cakes that are special orders and not like the usual "everyday" cakes... that being said, here are a few of the "cool cakes" I've done this past week...

My sister graduated from Purdue last week! WOOHOO! I made her cake for her open house last night and I made her present from me too.

Her name is Robyn, and she loves birds LOL, so I kept the theme going...

I made her this "birdcage pillow" :)

This is the back of the pillow. Her favorite color is green!

And this is the gift bag I designed.

It was just one of those plain gift bags from the craft store.

I also, of course, made her card as well, but I do not have a picture of it yet.

It had a bird theme as well! :)

Paint Chip Art...

I decided to make a collage out of those freebie paint chips from the hardware store...(actually, these particular ones were from Walmart, not a hardware store...but you get the idea!) I like how it turned out, I think I wanna do one with circles next...

It's really May already! I can't beleive it. I have had a lot on my plate these last few months, not a lot of time, nor motivation to be crafty. I am studying to get my pharmacy tech certification. That takes up a lot of my free time, I am still working as a cake decorator at Marsh, and it's graduation season...so needless to say that's 40 hours out of my week. Eric and I have been planning our move across the country to Arizona. We have tentatively decided that January seems most likely for our move. That way we can spend one last Holiday season at home which we hope will make it easier to move. I have finally decided that I am ready to take my sewing "hobby job" to the next level. I am expanding from just bags and purses, coming up with some new designs, but also doing throw pillows, appliques, refinishing old vintage pieces, making greeting cards, etc. and selling them on Etsy. See the link on the top of my blog to my store! :) These next few months, I hope to get a lot of my new items done and posted on here for your viewing pleasure. I am very excited about all of the stuff going on in my life right now, but now I must go sketch and finish watching Iron Man. :)

A New D.Creations for the New Year!

Hello and Happy New Year!!
I have been M.I.A. from the blog for a month or so. The Holidays were fun, but crazy as usual. My day job demanded most of my time for the months of November and December, the Holidays are a very demanding time for the Cake Decorators of the world! Anywho, I have been trying to get motivated for the new year. Due to "creative differences" with the owner of Many Things, I will no longer be selling my bags there. I am going to continue to sell them online via this site and Facebook. I am still looking into getting an online store on my own website, so bear with me on that. As always I am willing to ship pretty much anywhere (within the US.)
I am currently working out some new designs for some LEATHER HANDBAGS!!! So stay-tuned for that! They will all be original one-of a kind bags, I am not doing any duplicates anymore. I hope to have the first few done by late February! Thanks for being patient with me, and I promise to update regularly. Let's make 2010 the YEAR for D.C!!

IMPORTANT EVENTS TO KNOW ABOUT!!

It's that time of year again to start thinking about Holiday Shopping! I personally LOVE this time of year, and I am very excited to be able to create great personal gifts for my friends and family. I've always wanted to be able to share my creations with EVERYONE, and now, I am! D.Creations purses and totes are available for purchase at the new store called Many Things in Lafayette, IN. It is located at 1165 S. Creasy Lane. (Right by where that Christian Bookstore used to be.) I am also very excited about November, I will be at 2 different festivals. November 14th I will be at the new Arnett Hospital for their Fall Fest I believe it runs from 9 am til 4 pm! And then, on November 22, I will be at the Burberry Apartments Clubhouse on Creasy Lane, for thier "One Stop Holiday Shop" Event. That will run from 1 pm til 6 pm! So if you live in town, or close, you should stop by atleast one of these! :) Also, I am currently accepting custom orders for Holiday gifts. (see my Contact info in my Blog Archive under Custom Order Info).

Introducing the messenger bag!

I just finished my first take on the messenger bag today as well! (I've been a busy girl today!) I Really like it, The particular one shown here is aprox. 12 inches by 12 inches, with a 3 inch flat bottom. It has a 45 inch "across the shoulder" strap and a pocket on the back side of the bag and two in the inside. This one will be on sale for $25.

The double pockets on the inside are perfect

for you phone and your keys!

I am working on a larger and padded version of this bag for carrying a laptop. It will have a divder pocket inside with a zipper closure. Prices for the laptop bag are not yet determined. Email me with any questions!

NEW STYLE!!!

Ok, This one is a hand-bag, quite a bit smaller than my usual hobo, but very adorable! It measures 13 inches wide, and about 9 inches tall, with a pocket on the outside front bottom. Two straps that are about 13 inches long, and a ribbon tie closure. I do not have a name for this style yet...they will be $14 each.

They are a little smaller than I originally intended, but I think they are cuter this way...

They measure about 9 inches wide on the top and 6 inches deep.

The wrist strap is 7 inches long and each has a full zipper closure.

I am making over-sized WRISTLETS. They are a great addition to one of the original Hobo Bags, or wonderful on they're own, they are big enough to carry your wallet, cell phone, chapstick, digital camera, you know...the essentials! :) Here is a pic of one I made as a test run, more are coming soon!
